STR is developing a
robust virtual, constructive, analytical, and augmented reality simulation
capability. Roboticists will be able to envision new systems within
SquadLeader's command and control system and conduct pre-construction
testing. Best practices and doctrinal experimentation will be available
for new concepts of human-machine hybrid teaming.
STR has successfully engaged as a subcontractor in the requirements development for the future of NATO's CoreSim simulations. CoreSim will build training, analytical, educational, and evaluative simulations within the NATO structure. STR is proud to support NATO!
OUR MILITARY SIMULATION BACKGROUND
Dr. Wayne Stilwell has been a pioneer in the field of Simulation and Training with a career as a Functional Area 57 Simulation Officer in the US Army, as a professor at a Virginia land grant university, and as CEO of a technology and integrated robotics company. He has designed training exercises with embedded simulations, designed new computer simulations, developed simulation and training federations technical architectures, and advanced the state of simulation, C4I, and autonomous systems continuously since 1995.
- Served as Chief, NATO Joint Warfare Centre Simulation, Modeling, and C4I in Stavanger, Norway as an army colonel. Oversaw preparation of Joint Force Headquarters simulations and exercise preparations, developed footprints for ISAF international staff training, and helped the host nation Norwegian defense forces plan and build one of the most technically advanced simulation centers in the world. Regularly planned and executed international joint classified simulation exercises involving over 4000 individual systems.
- Served as Deputy and later Director of the Joint Multinational Simulation Center in Grafenwohr, Germany. Oversaw the preparations of 47 connected simulation buildings and the regular delivery of distributed classified simulations to central European partners and NATO militaries. Regularly provided truly world class facilities to American combat units preparing for missions and deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan.
- Oversaw the regular implementation and participated in the oversight of the Joint Deployment Logistics Model at Fort Lee, Virginia. Served as the chief of systems integration for the US Army's National Simulation Center in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Developed simulations based exercises for armor and infantry brigades deploying to Bosnia and Kosovo. Developed a full simulation center for Janus based exercises at Fort McClellan, Alabama in the mid 90s.
- Taught mathematics and computer science at the Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia. Developed the autonomous functions that form the basis of SquadLeader TM Software.
- Performed as master of ceremonies for technical conferences in London and Warsaw, Poland, and was a regular contributor to simulation and training conferences throughout Europe and the United States.
