Feb 12 2017 - Georgia Tech's Aerospace Engineering Department has engaged STR as the prime on a Small Business Technology Transfer application. The subject is autonomous navigation of machine teams in a GPS denied, poorly mapped area.
January 2017 - Pink Eye Detection in Cattle - STR is beginning work to develop an autonomous bovian pink eye detection capability for farmers. Germanna Community college has submitted a USDA grant application for the study.
December 2016 - STR delivers curriculum for Lord Fairfax Community College in unmanned systems use in construction and transportation.
21 November 2016 - STR develops and delivers 5S training for Bingham and Taylor, America's oldest operating cast iron foundry. Courses in both English and Spanish have been developed.
15 July 2016 - Germanna invited STR to a drone filming of a quarry blast at Cedar Run Mountain, Virginia. Senator Warner (Virginia) was on hand to watch SenseFly's parrot drone with an advanced camera film the blast and also conduct a volumetric estimate of rock piles afterwards. June and July 2016- Three interns from UVA at Wise are continuing software programming on SquadLeader this summer. This year's interns are labeled the "Wise Guys". Summer 2014 interns (8) were called the "Boys of Summer", and 2015s interns were "The New Kids on the Block". Our interns continue to contribute to our software and systems command and control development.
3 June 2016 - STR delivers its first UAS curriculum to Germanna Community College.
19 April - STR is working with JMU College of Business students Nick Anthony and Zachary Deutel to continue to develop financial options for the robotics innovation center in St Paul, Virginia. Go Dukes!
18 April - STR has agreed to a joint effort with the University of Virginia at Wise to hire three students for a summer internship in robotics software development. Interviews are Friday, 22 April!

7 April - STR flew Phantom 3 drones as a demonstration for the Culpeper Air Fest committee meeting.
24 March - STR worked with Mercato Systems from Boston, MA, to assess the drone intrusion detection capacity of Red Onion State Prison and Wallens Ridge State Prison. Drone detection and reaction are a major concern in the corrections industry.
17 Dec 2015 - STR young professionals constructed, operated, and deconstructed an entire VEX robotics competition at the Bailey's Crossroads Community Club in Falls Church, Va.
12 Dec 2015 - STR provides robotics competition expertise at Woodbridge Senior High School. Over 100 high school and middle school teams competed in the regional competition. STR's young professionals are building a turn-key STEM and robotics event capability.
